- MLS®️ laser care
It is suggested that the exterior of the system and the laser applicators be cleaned and disinfected regularly. Please read chapter 9 of the User Guide for details (summary below).
Clean the control unit, handpiece, multidiode head and, in particular, the optics of the applicators, with a soft cloth dampened in non-flammable, non-alcoholic disinfectant detergent. Always use a clean cloth.
Be careful not to contaminate the optic unit with detergents or disinfectants during the cleaning process.
The device (base unit) and the handpiece must not be cleaned or come in contact with strong bases or acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons (e.g., tetrachloroethylene, trichloroethylene) or ketonic hydrocarbons (acetone).
Air filter cleaning
Remove the inlet air filter on the handpiece and clean it under running water. Make sure it is dry before reassembly.
The only hard object that should touch the LCD screen is the supplied stylus.
Plastic sleeves
Plastic sleeves may be used as part of a practice’s infection control protocol.
Such systems are suitable for use with your Mphi laser for:
- one patient use sleeves to cover areas touched by the patient or practice staff e.g., laser hand piece
- plastic tube sleeves to cover cables
Regarding the use of plastic sleeves for infection control, please consider the following two important notes:
- If you cover the optics or the guide light, there is a very small reduction of the laser beam, however this should not affect the therapeutic effects.
- DO NOT COVER THE AIR FILTER on the back of the handpiece, because the sheath can reduce the air flow to the internal fan.
