After selecting the shoulder
The treatment envisages covering the painful area in an initial phase with a manual scan (the ‘Scan Phase’), and subsequently treating the individual ‘Trigger Points’. However, that order can be reversed if desired.
- Select either Acute Pain or Chronic Pain as required.
- Select either Scan Phase or Trigger Points as required.
For each selection made the device will display defined treatment values.
You can also adjust for
- A – Body type options: S slim, M medium, L large
- B – Patient phototype options: A fair-skinned, B dark-skinned; Note: Dark phototype is also suitable for treating an area that is tattooed.
According to the choices made, the treatment parameters concerning duration and emission intensity will be adjusted.
Once the operator has made the selections they can alter any of the parameters shown.
Scan Phase
Scanning involves slowly moving the handpiece across the body part touching the skin. The display will show an animated graphic suggesting how to scan.
When ready, the operator presses START.
After pressing START an intermittent warning buzzer sounds, a warning lamp flashes and a warning triangle appears on the display to warn that laser is armed and ready to emit.
By pressing the button on the handpiece it then begins supplying MLS laser radiation.
The supply continues until the time expires when the device will stop and revert to the previous screen.
Trigger Points
- A – The time indication refers to the individual trigger point
- B – Indication of energy and density of energy supplied on the individual trigger point
In “Trigger Points” mode a set of parameters is shown. These refer to one individual trigger point.
The software will display a graphic of some potential trigger points for pain in the body part.
It is up to the operator to determine the location and number of trigger points.
The software will not suggest how many trigger points. It is up to the operator to complete treatment based on their clinical knowledge. This mode remains enabled until the operator presses the “STOP” button on the emission screen. This is because as no number of trigger points set so total treatment time cannot be defined.
The energy density value in J/ (fluence) to be supplied by the MLS handpiece is shown in addition to the indication of the energy value.
The operator can then also the suggested parameters shown before pressing START.
Press START. Hold the handpiece on the skin at each trigger point and press the handpiece button.
Each trigger point may be treated multiple times based on the patient’s response. If pain reduces; apply again until no effect.
After the time expires, move to the next trigger point.
Press STOP when the treatment is finished.
