Robotic head
- Select channel 2
- Select the body part, e.g. shoulder (for this lesson)
After selecting the body part
A screen appears showing details of the chosen area and a pathology list.
Select the pathology required (e.g. strain for this lesson).
The device sets the most appropriate treatment parameters including the size of the treatment area.
The robotic head moves to indicate the perimeter of the area that will be treated, including a red cross hairs. The operator uses this to position the head correctly.
- A – Setting of scanning area setting – See separate lesson on how to adjust the scanning area
- B – Body type options: Slim (S), medium (M) and large (L)
- C – Total energy delivered
- D – Energy density delivered
- E – Setting of treatment parameters, including application point number, total energy and energy density per point
The Pathology treatment mode envisages covering the selected body area with one or more scanning defined areas. The head is placed at a distance of 20 cm from the patient’s skin.
The appliance indicates the frequency, time, intensity, total energy supplied and the energy density on the area plus number of areas. The operator can then alter the parameters shown.
The user can also optimise for the patient’s build: Slim (S), medium (M) and large (L) with the parameters and consequently energy supplied altered to suit automatically.
The appliance remains on stand-by to allow the operator to position the robotised head over the treatment area.
Once the robotised head has been positioned, press:
then:
to start the treatment.
The robotised head starts to emit laser radiation. In this state, the device shows a screen stating the treatment values, residual time and the cumulative value of energy emitted.
The supply continues until the time expires when the device will stop and revert to the previous treatment parameters screen.
If there is more than one area on the treatment screen, the emission will pause with an acoustic warning when the energy dose for the first point is reached; the device divides the total treatment time by the number of points.
Move the head to the next point suggested then press:
again.
Once all points have been treated the time will have expired and the device will stop and revert to the previous treatment parameters screen.
One session of treatment has been completed.
Handpiece
- Select channel 1
- Select the body part, e.g. shoulder (for this lesson)
A selection of pathologies appears.
Select a pathology from the list and the device sets the most appropriate treatment parameters.
- A – Body type options: S slim, M medium, L large
- B – Patient phototype options: A fair-skinned, B dark-skinned
- C – Application point number, total energy and energy density per point
The Pathology treatment mode envisages placing the handpiece on a pre-defined number of points that are sufficient to uniformly cover the body part concerned.
To this end, the device shows
- Number of points recommended
- Energy density for each of the points
- Total energy supplied
The device also can instantly adjust for patient size by selection between Slim (S), medium (M) and large (L).
The device can also instantly adjust for skin phototype between Fair phototype (A) and dark phototype (B).
Note: Dark phototype is also suitable for treating an area that is tattooed.
Once the operator has made the selections they can alter any of the parameters shown. When changing the number of treatment areas for example, the appliance alters the treatment time in order to keep the energy density initially set constant.
When ready to commence treatment press START on the LCD screen using the stylus provided.
After pressing START an intermittent warning buzzer sounds, a warning lamp flashes and a warning triangle appears on the display to warn that laser is armed and ready to emit.
Place the handpiece against the first treatment point as shown on the screen against exposed skin.
Press the button (B) on the handpiece and it will begin supplying MLS laser radiation.
The emission will automatically pause with an acoustic warning, when the energy dose for the first point is reached; the device divides the total treatment time by the number of points. The device remains on stand-by until the handpiece button is pressed again.
Move the handpiece to the next point suggest by the software then press the handpiece button again.
Once all points have been treated the time will have expired and the device will stop and revert to the previous screen.
One session of treatment has been completed.
